A number of Orlando residents who train at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona will be in Paris this week for the season’s second Grand Slam event. With the main draw set to begin Sunday, players who now call Orlando home will be competing in this week’s qualifying draw for an opportunity to play into next week. On the men’s side, Reilly Opelka and Bjorn Fratangelo each advanced to the third round of qualifying, needing one more win to reach the main draw. On the women’s side, Kristie Ahn advanced to the second round of qualifying and will look to join a number of Orlando-based women in the main draw later this week.

Earlier this spring, American pros utilized the state-of-the-art red clay courts at the National Campus to prepare for the famed European surface. A few American pros trained on the red clay courts earlier this year.
