2018 USTA Keith Donoff Cup
Men's Intersectional Comes to Campus
November 8, 2018
The annual men’s 55 & Over Intersectional event, the Keith Donoff Cup, will take place at the USTA National Campus for the first time in its history. This year’s edition, running from Friday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11, features teams from the Florida, Middle States, Midwest and Southern Sections. Southern comes in as the defending champions.
The Donoff Cup is composed of the following age divisions: 55s, 60s, 65s, and 70s. The four Sections will have a team competing in those divisions, where they will face off in round robin dual matches.
A dual match consists of three singles and two doubles matches per division, each counting for one team point. Singles contests will be the best of three tiebreak sets using regular scoring; doubles matches will be two tiebreak sets using regular scoring with a 10-point match tiebreak as a deciding set.
The winner of a team match is determined by the Section that wins the most individual matches; a team can earn up to 20 points in a single dual. If two or more Sections end the weekend with the same number of individual victories, head-to-head results will determine the overall team champion.
