Junior Play Closes Out Month of June

Junior action takes to the courts of the USTA National Campus again this weekend as the 2019 UTR Summer Jam Level 7 gets underway Saturday morning and runs through Sunday afternoon.
Composed of over 150 players representing four states (California, Florida, Hawaii, and New York) and the U.S. Virgin Islands along with the countries of the Czech Republic, England and Japan, the two-day event will give players the opportunity to collect USTA ranking points and earn credit towards their Universal Tennis Rating. The tournament also features a 10 & Under Orange Ball division.
The competitors on the boys’ side have been divided into six draws based on their ratings. Top seeds include Chase McKinnon (Boca Raton) in the 2.00-3.03 Draw, Saahhil Lakhani (Orlando) in the 3.04-3.57 Draw, Ivan Rybak (Palm Coast) in the 3.58-5.04 12s-14s Draw, Carter Chavez (Port Orange) in the 3.73-5.17 14s-18s Draw, Lance Dupuis (Winter Garden) in the 5.18-5.97 Draw, and Andre Botero (Lithia) in the 6.06-8.19 Draw.
For the girls, a total of four level-based draws have been created. Players seeded No. 1 are Ana Varas (Orlando) in the 1.08-2.98 Draw, TaKaii Adderley (Fort Lauderdale) in the 2.98-4.15 Draw, Caroline Bohrer Martins (Orlando) in the 4.16-6.14 Draw, and Lilly Pleasant (Orlando) in the 6.56-8.31 Draw.
Each of the draws is of the compass variety, meaning every player is guaranteed at least three matches over the two days of play.
