Play kicked off on Saturday at the USTA Florida Orlando Clay Championships Level 7 and Orange Level 1, with multiple rounds of play being completed across every division. Action has now concluded in the Orange Level 1 while the eight draws of the Level 7 will wrap up on Sunday.

Showcasing play in all age divisions, this intermediate-level event gives juniors who already have experience with tournament play the opportunity to earn ranking points.

Boys and girls in the 10 & under Orange Level 1 competed in five rounds over the course of Saturday, with each round consisting of one no-ad set to six.

Two finals are already set heading into Sunday, with top seed Nicholas Olomu going against Daniel Blackman for the boys’ 18s title while Demme Kraut and Valentina Serino clash for the girls’ 18s crown. The remaining six draws will see their semifinal and final rounds played out on Sunday.

The top seeds remain alive in the boys’ 12s (Jae Centonze), boys’ 14s (Edmund Bennett), boys’ 16s (Arthur Radulescu), girls’ 12s (Madison Molock) and girls’ 14s (Brenda Yoris). Girls’ 16s No. 1 seed was swept aside – 6-0, 6-0 – by Meadow Garcia in the quarterfinals. Only Yoris has been extended to a match tiebreak so far, surviving a 5-7, 6-1, 11-9 contest versus Veronika Prospalova. Meanwhile, both Bennett and Molock did not surrender a game in moving into the final four.

The most intriguing division on Saturday was the boys’ 16s, where Radulescu is now the only seed left in the main draw. He will be across the net from Dylan Cass, who upset third seed Jordan Tatang 6-4, 7-6, in one semifinal. Unseeded competitors Harrison Michalowski and Luke Paschal are set for a matchup in the other semifinal after defeating the No. 4 and No. 2 seeds, respectively, by the margin of 6-2, 6-1.

Sunday’s slate gets underway at 8:30 a.m. For more information on the USTA Florida Orlando Clay Championships Level 7 and Orange Level 1, click here.
