USTA League National Adult 40 & Over 4.0 Championships
Texas Women, Florida Men Crowned Champs

The USTA League 40 & Over 4.0 National Championships came to a close Sunday under the sweltering Florida sun, as the Texas women’s team, from Carrollton, and the Florida section men’s team from Parkland, Fla., fought through tough fields to capture the championship crowns.
In the women’s final, Texas, based out of the Oak Creek Tennis Center, defeated the New England crew from Manchester, Mass., to take the championship title. In the semifinals, Texas eliminated the Midwest team from Troy, Mich., 3-2, to secure its spot in the final.
The Texas team is captained by Nycole Vu and features: Danna Bond, Cheri Prichard, Michelle Fitch, Roz Erlewein, Bea Demel, Laura Pyle, Linda Leftin, Stefani McQueary, Wendy Holiner, Maureen McCaffrey, Elizabeth Shaw and Rebecca Bridges and plays at the Oak Creek Tennis Center.
The Florida men’s team, which plays out of Quigley Park in Parkland, Fla., toppled a determined Middle States team from Ambler, Pa., 4-1, securing their championship title. Earlier in the day, Florida squeaked by the Southern team from New Orleans, 3-2, to make the championship match.
The Sunshine State team is captained by Les Liese and features Barry Rittman, Walter Lentz, Jeff Williamson, Jonathan Rubin, Drew Wright, Christian Reyes, David Netburn, Jorge Rodriguez, Atif Raoof, Bill Day, Roland Schwend, Greg Brusey, Michael Golieb, Rudolph Bonnin, Santiago Restrepo, Michael Griffith, Maurice Wiley, David Aron, Mark Miller, and Juan Hernandez.
