USTA League National action makes a winter appearance for the first time at the USTA National Campus with the Adult 65 & Over 6.0/8.0 Invitational set to take place Jan. 31-Feb. 2. Overall, four team titles will be on the line.

Only the women’s 8.0 division features all 17 USTA Sections, while the men’s 8.0 competition welcomes in a representative from every Section except Caribbean and the women’s 6.0 division includes all but Southern California. Only eight squads make up the men’s 6.0 competition – Florida, Intermountain, Mid-Atlantic, Northern, Northern California, Pacific Northwest, Southern, and Texas.

Friday and Saturday will consist of flight play; every team will play two dual matches per day. A dual match is made up of three courts of doubles, with a squad needing to take at least two of those contests for the dual victory. Each individual doubles contest will be the best of three tiebreak sets with a match tiebreak in lieu of a full third set.

Teams placing in the top four of their respective division will move on to Sunday’s playoff rounds. The semifinals are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. with the finals and third-place playoffs to follow at approximately 11:00 a.m.

Champions at last year’s event included the Northern (St. Paul Academy & Summit School – Saint Paul, Minn.) 6.0 men, the Florida (Pelican Marsh – Naples) 6.0 women, the Southern California (Rancho Bernardo Swim & Tennis Club – San Diego) 8.0 men, and the Southern California (Monarch Beach Tennis Club – Monarch Beach) 8.0 women.
