The final adult league event of the summer at the National Campus, the USTA Florida Adult 18 & Over 2.5/3.5/4.5 Sectional Championships, are set to get underway Friday morning on both the Team USA and Har-Tru courts.

The tournament will feature a combined 61 teams (28 men’s and 33 women’s) competing to advance to their respective national championship this fall. There will be three women’s divisions and two men’s divisions in action over the three-day event.

The women’s 2.5 division is composed of six teams and only one flight, meaning the flight winner will be declared the section champion. The 3.5 division holds a total of 18 teams and four flights, with each flight winner moving on to the semifinals on Sunday morning. For the 4.5 division, there are nine teams competing in two flights with the division championship to pit the top finisher in each flight against one another.

On the men’s side, the 3.5 division consists of 17 teams in four flights and the 4.5 division features 11 teams in three flights. Both divisions will see Friday’s and Saturday’s round robin action move into Sunday’s knockout stage, with semifinal matchups at 8:00 am and the finals to follow around 11:30 am. The 3.5 semifinalists will be the four flight winners while the 4.5 semifinalists will be the three flight winners plus a wild card team determined by the results of all 4.5 flight matches.
