The ATP Challenger Tour makes its return to the USTA National Campus for the first time since the end of the 2018 season with the second edition of the Orlando Open presented by Nemours. Qualifying singles matches were contested over the weekend with main draw action set to get underway Monday, Nov. 16, and continue through Sunday, Nov. 22.

Brazil’s Thiago Monteiro has earned the top seed in the singles draw, as he comes into the week ranked No. 84 in the FedEx ATP Rankings. He is coming off a career-best effort at a grand slam after reaching the third round of the French Open earlier this fall. Monteiro’s opening round opponent will be American JC Aragone.

American Denis Kudla (No. 124), who captured the singles crown Sunday at the Atlantic Tire Championship in Cary, N.C., is seeded second; Kudla is one of two Americans seeded along with eighth-seeded Mackenzie McDonald (No. 193). Also among the top eight seeds, in order, are Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan (No. 133), Prajnesh Gunneswaran (No. 146) of India, Egypt’s Mohamed Safwat (No. 156), Dmitry Popko (No. 174) of Kazakhstan, and India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan (No. 185).

Receiving singles wild cards into the main draw were Americans Brandon Holt, Sam Riffice, and Patrick Kypson; additionally, four competitors representing the United States played their way into the main draw through qualifying – Alexander Ritschard, Christian Harrison, Zachary Svajda. Lucky loser spots were awarded to Nick Chappell and Kevin King, both of the United States.

In doubles, the Mexican pairing of Hans Hach Verdugo and Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela find themselves in the top spot of the draw while Andrew Golubev and Aleksandr Nedovyesov, both from Kazakhstan, are the second seeds. The American duo of Robert Galloway and Nathaniel Lammons are seeded third overall; Hunter Reese (USA) and Sem Verbeek (Netherlands) check in as the fourth-seeded team.

The 2020 Orlando Open is closed to the public; only credentialed guests will be able to access the tournament area. For more information on the 2020 Orlando Open presented by Nemours, including the daily order of play and live streaming links, click here.
