2021 USTA FL March Level 4 Championships
Matches Begin Saturday Morning
March 5, 2021

The first tournament canceled from the USTA National Campus events calendar a year ago, the USTA Florida March Level 4 Championships is set to make its return this weekend with the 16s and 18s divisions in action. Play is scheduled to begin Saturday, March 6, and run through Monday, March 8.
All matches will use regular scoring and be the best-of-three tiebreak sets with a match tiebreak in lieu of a full third. Each division will have a feed-in consolation draw through the round of 16. Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) was used for all selection and seeding.
Tygen Goldammer (Estero) has earned the top seed in the boys’ 16s draw thanks to his recent tournament victory at the Naples Junior Winter Smash Level 6, while Nikita Deev (Las Vegas) is the No. 2 seed after besting the boys’ 16s field at the L3 Southwest Junior Championships in Mesa, Ariz. Rounding out the seeded competitors in order is Nikola Parichkov (Tampa), Benjamin Willwerth (Jupiter), Sebastian Mendoza (Weston), Matthew Hewitt (Tampa), Raul de la Vega (Miami), and Valentin Vasquez (Boca Raton). First round matches in the boys’ 16s competition are slated for 8 a.m. with the second round to take place at 11:30 a.m.
Boys’ 18s No. 1 seed Maxim Michaels (Wellington) has not taken the court in a sanctioned tournament since the end of 2020, where he claimed a victory in the opening round of the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships. Logan Haga (Zephyrhills) comes in second overall in the division on the strength of reaching the semifinals at the USTA Florida Daytona Beach Level 4 event in December. Also among the top eight, in order, are Edmund Bennett (Saint Augustine), Daniel Green (Boca Raton), Max Lindstrom (Satellite Beach), Aayush Kishore (Sarasota), Zak Vince (Clermont), and Phillip Dell (Bradenton). Opening round contests are slated for 10:30 and 11 a.m. with winning players returning for the next round at 2:30 and 3 p.m.
At the top of the girls’ 16s draw is Carla Pacot (Boca Raton), who boasts a 7-1 record for the year. She won five matches at last week’s Boca Delray Level 5 Championships to capture the 16s title, dropping just a single game in the semifinals and final combined. No. 2 seed Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev (Naples) also won her last sanctioned event; however, that took place five months ago at the Naples Octoberfest Level 6. Finishing off the list of seeds in the draw are Natalie Outcalt (Ponte Vedra Beach), Olivia Bustos (Doral), Alexi Cleveland (Boynton Beach), Aleksandriya Dzheneva (Melbourne), Anna Maria Fedotova (Lake Worth), and Michaela Landry (Fort Lauderdale). First round matches will be on court between 8 and 9 a.m. while the round of 16 is set for noon.
Girls’ 18s No. 1 seed Sophia Wang (Saint Petersburg) will be looking to build off of her last appearance at the USTA National Campus, where she reached the semifinals of the 18s division at the USTA Florida “Bobby Curtis” Sectional Championships before having to retire mid-match. She also found doubles success on the ITF circuit with Jasmin Makela (Boca Raton), who is the third seed this week, as they paired up to win the October event in Daytona Beach. No. 2 seed Anslee Long (Saint Petersburg) last played at the Tier One SPLITZ Level 4 Challenge, where she won all eight of her singles and doubles contests. Also earning a seeded position in the draw, in order, are Victoria Osuigwe (Bradenton), Polina Krumkachev (Bradenton), Hudson Herzog (Delray Beach), Mary Boyce Deatherage (Maitland), and Cade Cricchio (Gainesville). All opening round matches have been schedules for 9:30 or 10 a.m. and the round of 16 matchups will be back on court at 1:30 p.m.
