2019 Orlando Tennis Series
Doubles Champions Crowned Saturday
June 21, 2019

The Orlando Tennis Series heads into the weekend at the USTA National Campus with the singles semifinals and the doubles finals set.
The event, which is an ITF World Tennis Tour M15 and W15 event, features some of the top up-and-coming men’s and women’s players from around the world, including both current and former collegians, as well as top American juniors.
In the women’s singles main draw, No. 1 seed Grace Min, No. 2 seed Tori Kinard and fourth-seeded Natasha Subhash all advanced to the semifinals with straight-sets win. They’ll be joined by Karina Miller, the rising high school senior from Ann Arbor, Mich., who continued her incredible run through the main draw as a qualifier, defeating No. 3 seed Connie Ma who retired in the second set with Miller leading 6-4, 3-0.
Tomorrow’s doubles final will be an all-teenager affair as the second-seeded duo of Allura Zamarripa and Maribella Zamarripa, 16-year-old twin sisters from St. Helena, Calif., advanced to take on Kimmi Hance, a rising high school junior from Torrance, Calif., and Ashlyn Krueger, a rising high school sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas.
Strong Kirchheimer, the No. 7 seed in the men’s singles main draw and former Northwestern Wildcat, became the lone American to advance to tomorrow’s semifinals, defeating fellow countryman and No. 4 Paul C. Oosterbaan in straight sets. He’ll face No. 2 seed Ricardo Rodriguez of Venezuela, the highest seeded player remaining. The other semifinal will pit the sixth-seeded Diego Hidalgo of Ecuador against Argentina’s Alan Kohen, the tournament’s No. 8 seed.
Tomorrow’s men’s doubles final features the American tandem of Trent Bryde and Tyler Zink taking on Rodriguez and Hidalgo, who are the tournament’s No. 2 seed.
The ITF World Tennis Tour is the new umbrella name for all former USTA Pro Circuit and Junior Circuit tournaments and serves as the player pathway between the junior game and the elite levels of professional tennis.
The Orlando Tennis Series is the second professional tennis tournament to be held at the USTA National Campus this year. In January, the campus welcomed the Orlando Open, an ATP Challenger 90 men’s event that saw American Marcos Giron win the first ATP title of his career.
The main draw continues tomorrow with the singles semifinals and doubles finals and concludes Sunday with the singles finals. Play begins daily at 9 a.m. Admission to the Orlando Tennis Series is free.
